I purchased (from amazon) the 8.9" model of the AC1 one month ago, and i'm glad i did. i adore this little laptop, and have experienced NONE of the problems other reviewers have mentioned. out of the box mine was perfect. i did remove mcaffe and replaced it with avast, and dumped IE for firefox.
however..in recent days Acer has leaked and then confirmed pics/info on the 10.1" screen model. due in feb, at a price of $400. easier upgrade slots on bottom of machine (this one can go to 2g on ram, built in bluetooth, etc).
i love my little laptop -- it is the only computer i use. some may wish to wait for the latest edition in the netbook line...or wait for price drops on the 8.9 as it is being phased out by 2nd quarter 2009. Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOA150-1049 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Black.
