When I first researched this item, I was advised to purchase this item configured with the 1GB Ram, 160GB Hard Drive, 6 Cell battery. The price differential (more) would be worth it. Boy was the reviewer I used right. This machine is great and what's more, will not be obsolete any time soon. Windows XP, while not the most current Windows program, is a far cry more stable and easier to use than Vista. I speak from experience. The keyboard design takes a little getting used to, and the keys are a little small, however it is not bad. In order to load programs, etc you need an external DVD-CDROM Drive. These are readily aavailable, however it is only a minor inconvenience. I managed to obtain one on sale.
