I love my new Acer. Addressing complaints by some reviewers, I will say that I've never had an issue with loud fan noise. It was also very easy for me to adapt to the keyboard--it's a standard US laptop keyboard, with slightly smaller keys. I was touch typing comfortably within an hour of receiving and setting up my Acer. The 6-cell battery is a joy--I am glad that Amazon is offering it as a part of the package, as it used to only sell with the 3-cell.
I am enjoying XP, though I did remove some unnecessary programs and made a few software choices (removed the Office Trial and uploaded OpenOffice, downloaded Pidgin and Google Chrome). The Aspire comes with 1GB RAM, which is not a lot, but has been enough for me to run a word processor, an internet browser and a music player at the same time without a second thought, so I can't complain. You probably wouldn't want to edit music or make a movie on the netbook, but that's not really what they are for in the first place, right?
I cannot come up with anything that's made me unhappy about this purchase thus far--I've even become accustomed to using the scrollpad, although I think if you have the space a mouse is still more comfortable.
A great price for a good little laptop. It has my vote.Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOA150-1049 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Black.
