The Acer Aspire One has been a conversation starter on my last two flights --- both in the plane and in the security lines. It warrants the attention because of it's handy size and weight. More than "cute", the Acer netbook is an excellent choice for lightweight travel. It has the power, hard drive size and programs you need on the road. For my recent 15 day vacation I downloaded a movie, watched a missed episode of Lost, used it for the internet, used as a usb power source for charging my phone. The battery life on the 6 cell is more than any laptop I have ever used --- a full 6 hours.
I wouldn't want to use it exclusively as the key board is a little small and the mouse a bit awkward plus the sound is very limited. Ear buds and an external speaker work fine. I would say the screen is adequate but not great. I get wireless fine when the signal is strong though have had some download lag.
As a travel companion I highly recommend it. For young adults it would be a great option and the price is excellent.Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOA150-1049 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Black.
