I still can't believe they can sell this much computer for 400 bucks. I kind of expected it to be a fun "toy" computer, but it does it all. Huge Plus: XP instead of that stinker Vista. There is nothing I don't love about this 6cell Acer. I wear XL gloves where I work, and I seem to get along fine with touch-typing on the keyboard. After a few minutes I was just typing away at my usual speed (I won't state my WPM so as not to seem like I'm bragging)...let's just say I ran a teletype service in the military for many years, and I helped finance my college degree by typing term papers for 3bucks a page.
What do I love to do with this ACER?
--drag and drop tons of TV shows (from my PC windows media 2005) and watch 'em where/when I want, sans ads.
--use the internet at work, without being monitored/threatened by the man.
--a mobile daily backup for digital xrays,..this really is a killer application for my profession (dental practice manager)
--if you like, say, adult movies,..this is a great get-away machine. (not that I have right hand, er, first hand knowledge of this feature)
--if you are managing dental practices, this computer will be your most bestest friend. With Google Calendar I can make and check appointments anywhere. Try to do that with IPhone and you'll go blind or crash your Beemer. (of course, if you use the previously listed feature, you may go blind or crash your Beemer anyway)
--and Mostly what I love to do with my 8.9 inch ACER? Coming up with dozens of new ways to incorporate this feisty little CPU into my busy life,..Everytime I turn around there's something I can do better and/or funner with this "toy".
--the 6cell battery life is excellent. Excellent! It kills my 2400 dollar Toshiba Satellite. And, Bonus: no more burned knees. The CPU runs so cool it's weird,..like watching a Prius pull into a parking lot with no engine noise.
Lastly,..I saw some were complaining of fan noise. Maybe they fixed this problem? I've never noticed the fan; I can't tell if it's on or off.
