Bottom line, this netbook performs beautifully as long as you use it for what it's supposed to.
I run a small business and I needed an additional terminal exclusively to be used for web applications and to run 1 spreadsheet. This little machine was just what the doctor ordered. First off, I removed all the bloatware that came with it (MS Office trial, McAfee security, Win DVD, etc) and installed Comodo. A free All in one Security suite that includes a smart firewall and it goes easy on RAM and resources.
I installed google chrome, and ONLY 1 Open office application: CALC. (Open office's answer of MS Excel). Let me tell you, this netbook's performance blew my mind. It's ultra-responsive, never freezes, never slows down. It's impressive what a machine can do when you spare it from the stuff you normally would install in a computer.
Even better: I purchased this KMV switch TRENDnet TK-207K Version v1.1R 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit Includes 2x KVM Cables and I'm using it with my desktop's monitor, mouse and keyboard, and I switch at will between the two machines. This netbook, just with the stuff that I installed, performs even faster than my dual core desktop with 2GB RAM, which obviously has more than 50 applications installed. (Think thats a lot? go to your control panel and check yours. You'd be surprised).
The 160GB makes it a winner (Personally I think that netbooks with solid state drives are not a smart investment since they practically demand the purchase of an external hard drive). I was lucky enough to purchase this netbook while amazon had it in stock, so I paid a lower price and I received it ultrafast courtesy of Amazon Prime.
