I normally travel with 2 computers, a 15.4 in and a 17 in, both HP's. However both are difficult to impossible to work with during flights even in first class plus the battery life of both is below 2 hours in real time. This little "Toy" (my name for it) has a 5+ hour battery life and is easy to whip out and put away and enough HD space, 160 GB, for most of my work AND IT COMES WITH XP!!!! I can convert movies to MP4 format to play while I travel.
In many cases planes used for flights less than 3 hours do not have external power available. It is also great for meetings, easy to carry and unobtrusive.
The lack of a built-in optical drive is no problem as I can easily attach an external, if needed, and file transfer can be done by email or jump drive. I also carry external HDs for backup and reference files.
Minor down sides, it is a fingerprint magnet and, and, and I can't think of another right off hand. The keyboard is about as normal as you could get, a very slight reduction in size, and the layout doesn't exactly match my other 2 but I haven't found one laptop keyboard that matches another yet, some are just worse than others.
I am seriously considering getting another as a backup.
The supplier, BuyNow.com, deliver it in the projected time.
The price was better on line. I got the 160 GB & 6 cell battery for less than that what I could have obtained at BestBuy or Office Depot with only 120 GB & 3 cell battery and did I mention IT COMES WITH XP!!!!
