I am very happy with this netbook. The fan noise is not at issue with my machine so far (2 weeks). The battery life is very good 5+ hours after two recharge cycle.
One issue I did have when I first got the notebook was slow and intermittent wireless connection. After hunting around for a while I found a driver and profile management update at Acer's Europe site ([...]. Once I installed this my wireless issues have disappeared. Please check with Acer before upgrading as this is not released in the US but worked for me.
